We’ll measure and discuss your child's weight and height.
We plot those numbers on the growth chart to give you a visual of how he’s changing from visit to visit.
Your provider cares about percentiles, and how they compare to previous visits. We’re looking for consistency. The actual numbers for weight and height are less important.
Nutrition
We'll discuss tips for mealtime success and ensure your child is meeting their daily nutritional requirements through a variety of foods.
Development
We'll measure your child's blood pressure.
As your child gets older, your child's provider may give your child an opportunity to talk to them privately.
This helps develop trust so that your child knows they can turn to their provider with any questions or concerns in the coming years.
Everyone develops differently and at their own pace. That being said, if there’s anything you’re worried about, please bring it to our attention. See something, say something!
Physical Exam
Our examination includes a lot in a short amount of time. Please ask questions if you have them! All questions are good questions, and we want you to be involved in your child’s care.
Vaccines
Several vaccines are given at the 11 year visit. There will be 3 injections, or 4 if your child is due for a flu shot (see below):
